Mother's Day Weekend continued...

Okay, so to continue my post about this weekend.

On Sunday, I woke up early and went to church. I did this because I believed it was expected of me (plus, it feels weird when I am at home on a Sunday and I don't go to church) and my Mom was surprised I was even awake because I arrived home much later than I was supposed to from babysitting. She even told me I should go back to bed, but I was already dressed and awake, so I went.

Afterwards, Carly and I picked up beignets from Convito Italiano in Plaza del Lago for Mother's Day breakfast surprise. (According to NorthShore Magazine, Convito Italiano has the best beignets in the Chicagoland area).

While the beignets were quite delicious, they were a little dry for my tastes...probably should have dipped them in something.

Sunday afternoon, Carly and I took my Mom to the movies, specifically, Ghost of Girlfriends Past. Really, they could have done a lot more with this movie, but it was a cheesy little chick flick and we enjoyed ourselves, my mother especially when Carly and I decided to dance out of the theater. We should do that more often since my mom really seems to get enjoyment out of that.

Take out from Magianno's ended the night and I got to go back to my apartment to my messy messy room and sleep off the busy weekend.

Now, I will try to keep up with this blog more often, but if I get sidetracked, I apologize. Stress will always trump whatever I should actually be doing.

I have been neglecting this blog for a while. I really wanted to stay on top of it, but work has been really busy as well as life in general. My parents are moving to Atlanta, so I have been in the 'burbs a lot, helping them get their stuff together. I have also been looking for a job, so the stress of the job search as well as the move has really not left a lot of time to devote to my blog.

However, I am going to try to get back on track, even if it means I have to let a little bit of my personal life leak onto here. So here goes...

This past weekend was Mother's Day weekend, which means I spent most of it in Wilmette with my Mom. On Saturday I hopped a 10:48 train up to Winnetka. I was WAY early for my hair appointment, so I sat in the Starbucks and had a white mocha and a croissant (I'm a complete failure at eating breakfast before leaving my apartment). After my hair appointment (I got my bangs back!) my little sister picked me up for an impromptu trip to Target for make-up, Mother's Day cards (she still had to buy one, and I had left mine at my apartment) and cds (she bought the Hannah Montana Movie Soundtrack, and I bought the Jonas Brothers cd on a whim). Overall, enjoyable. Once home, we packed the dogs into the car (our house was being shown) and took my Mom shoe shopping! (Rather, she took us shoe shopping. Carly needed shoes for graduation and I needed shoes for a wedding this summer). Babysat that night and made some mulah. Always a plus. More on Mother's Day later, gotta get back to work!
