Hello everyone!
This Saturday evening I saw Knowing with Nicholas Cage. SPOILER ALERT!!! I will warn you right now, if you plan on seeing this movie do not continue reading. I am going to discuss the end.
Overall it was an entertaining movie. It moved along nicely and it wasn't immediately obvious how it would end. However, this may be because the ending was completely random and unexpected and didn't quite fit in with the rest of the movie.
It began with a somewhat believable concept. A little girl hears voices and they tell her the dates, locations and death tolls of horrible tragedies to come over the next 50 years. Fast forward to the future where Nicholas Cage's son has possession of the paper the little girl wrote the dates on. Cage realizes what the paper means and tries to stop the three final tragedies from occuring.
Turns out, the last tragedy is the end of the world and the whispering voices are actually aliens trying to collect Cage's son and the original little girl's granddaughter so they can repopulate the human race after the Earth is destroyed by a solar flare....right...
All in all, great idea for a movie that fell short of my expectations. Wait to rent this one folks.
